Elxis – Open Source content management system (CMS)

Elxis CMS is an open source content management system (CMS) released under the GNU/GPL license. You can use Elxis to build simple to complex web sites without the need of having programming skills. Elxis CMS is provided for free and without any guarantee. Our headquarters are located in Athens, Greece. Elxis CMS is being developed by the Elxis Team a team of friends passioned to open source software.

Elxis is a Free Open Source Content Management System (CMS). Elxis gives you the freedom and the power to do what ever you have in mind, without limitations or dependences. With Elxis CMS, enterprises, business owners and individuals, are able to build multilingual websites and easily administer them. Elxis CMS, is distributed as a free open source application.

Elxis CMS is true Open Source Software and thus there are absolutely no licensing costs for using the software. This, of course, includes commercial usage on as many servers or clients or databases as you like.

Elxis CMS is very stable and mature if you consider that was initially based on Mambo CMS. All Mambo’s Templates are compatible with Elxis CMS.

Most of the Components need slight modificatications in order to be compatible with Elxis new features. There are two levels of compatibility that you can achieve:

• Functional Compatibility: Minor changes are needed. Focus on language handling and database connections. Component works ok, but cannot take advantage of Elxis new features.
• Full Compatibility: Changes level vary. The aim is to make the component able to access and utilize all new features of Elxis CMS.

To make your life easier and reduce the need of installing additionally software Elxis CMS is shipped with many features that you would find in other CMSs as extra, pre-installed.
